First Weekend in June, Events for you to attend Around the City!
Parks on Tap at Gorgas Park in Roxborough: The good news is the whole weekend won’t be a washout! Make the most of the overcast day we have headed our way Sunday for a little Sunday Funday at Gorgas Park! From noon to 10pm enjoy drinks, bites & the beauty of being able to drink outdoors after all this rain we’ve been having!
Philly Beer Week: Brewing beer was Philadelphia’s first business, so it’s only right that the city pay homage by dedicating 10-days to the brew! We would be here for days if we highlighted all events happening over the next few days so if you’re a beer enthusiast looking to celebrate with other like-minded people, check out the full event schedule here.
Roots Picnic: Pack. A. Poncho. It’s going to be a great festival, so don’t allow a little rain to keep you away! The Roots are hosting their 11th annual Picnic at penn’s Landing tomorrow with music from Lil Uzi Vert, Dirty Projectors, The Diplomats, 2 Chainz & more. Tickets are still available so if you’re interested check out their site.
Fete Day: Love walking down Elfreth’s Alley but hate that you can’t peek in? Tomorrow is your chance! For the afternoon, the resident’s will open their doors to the public to show how generations have lived in these homes as well as how the homes have been preserved. In addition to the open houses, there will also be live music, historic games, live music & of course…food.
Philadelphia Burger Brawl: We love a good wing bowl each year around the Super Bowl but have you been to the Philly Burger Brawl?! More than 60 chefs will flock to Xfinity Live this Sunday to show off their best recipes in hopes of taking home the title of best burger! If you’re not a burger fan (really?) don’t fret, there are also two other competitions happening in correlation to the burger brawl; there’s the Taco Takedown & the Cutthroat Cocktail Competition.
Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts: Having kicked off last night at the Kimmel Center, the International Festival of the Arts is well underway! For the next 10 days there will be a variety of performances to wow audiences of all ages…although you may want to leave the kids home for the 12 HOUR performance of A 24-Hour Decade History of Popular Music!
Rittenhouse Square Fine Art Show: We’re hoping it’s not all day rain this weekend as artists flock to Rittenhouse Park to celebrate the Fine Art Show for the 90th year – the nation’s oldest art show of its kind. There are artists from across North America who are here to showcase their talents to the people of Philadelphia.
Pay-What-You-Wish First Sunday at the Philadelphia Museum of Art: It’s the first Sunday of the month, but where did May go?! At the Museum of Art this Sunday admission is waived and you pay what you’d like in order to enjoy all exhibits – perfect overcast day activity!
Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship at Talen Energy Stadium: 8 collegiate teams from top rugby programs from across the country are in Philly this weekend to compete for the top spot in the Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championships. If you’re interested in watching the action, it’s best to get your tickets in advance and plan your travel to Talen Energy Stadium. Home of the Philadelphia Union, in Chester.
